Margo Fariss Brewer is an active genealogical instructor, consultant and lecturer who resides in North Carolina. She is the co-leader of Ann-Mar Genealogy Trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City which she finds strengthens her research and teaching skills. She also teaches 5 genealogy courses (Beginning through Advance, Telling the Rest of Your Family’s Story and a Genealogy Computer Lab at Duke University’s OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute where she has been on the faculty since 2004.

Her specialties are methodology, military and land records, courthouse research and assisted research trips to the Family History Library. Her focus is on records within the continental United States.

Margo is the President of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, Virginia Genealogical Society and several other state and local societies.

Margo is available to speak at meetings, seminars and workshops. Her lectures include PowerPoint presentations, handouts and a question-and-answer period. She encourages interaction with the audience with her enthusiasm, humor and organized approach to the topic.
